A wedding in Portugal with 100 guests costs roughly €15,000 to €30,000 in 2026 — around €150 to €300 per guest, everything included. Usually more than half goes on the quinta (a country estate) and the copo d'água, the wedding meal, which normally costs €70 to €160 per person; the rest is split between photography, music, flowers, the dress and the details.
Three things move the total, in this order: the number of guests, the date and the region. The figures below are a rough guide for 2026, not a price list: always ask for the price of your own day.
Portugal wedding cost by category: the summary
Rough figures for 2026, for a wedding of about 100 guests:
Quinta with the wedding meal (menu per person): €70 to €160 per guest; more at palaces, resorts and much sought-after estates.
Venue hire only: €2,000 to €12,000 a day, without food.
Open bar, if it is not in the menu: €15 to €40 per person.
Photographer (full day): €1,000 to €3,000.
Video: €800 to €2,200.
DJ with sound and lighting: €600 to €1,500; live band: €1,500 to €6,000.
Flowers and decoration: €700 to €3,500.
Wedding cake: €200 to €800, when it is not included in the menu.
Bride's hair and makeup: €150 to €500.
Wedding dress: €700 to €3,000; groom's suit: €350 to €1,200.
Wedding rings: €500 to €1,500 a pair.
Paper invitations: €2 to €6 each, one per household rather than per guest.
Civil wedding: €120 at the registry office on a weekday; €200 at the weekend or away from the registry office.
Quinta and wedding meal: the price per guest
Quintas work in one of two ways, and it pays to know which before you compare prices.
Menu per person, venue included
This is the most common model: one price per guest that covers the venue, the welcome drinks, dinner (or lunch), drinks with the meal, the dessert buffet and often the cake, the open bar and the late-night supper (ceia). In 2026 a full menu normally costs €70 to €160 per person; more courses, more hours of bar and more table service push it towards the top.
Also ask:
from what age children pay the adult menu, and what the children's menu costs;
whether there is a minimum number of guests or a minimum spend for the day;
whether the price already includes VAT (IVA);
what the suppliers' meals cost (photographer, video, DJ), since they eat too;
how late you can stay, and what each extra hour costs;
whether they charge a cake or corkage fee if you bring the cake or the wine from outside.
Venue hire only
Some quintas hire out only the space, for a fixed fee — in 2026 roughly €2,000 to €12,000 a day, depending on the region, the season and what is included (tables, chairs, linen, a marquee). The food comes separately, from a caterer you choose or from the quinta's list, and you only know the total once catering, staff and drinks are added up.
To compare venues calmly, read how to choose a quinta for your wedding and look at quintas near Lisbon or in the Minho. On Eventadore, once you enter your date and number of guests, each card shows what that day costs, all in, travel included; without them, it shows a price range.
Photographer, video and music: what they cost
Photography. Full-day coverage — getting ready, ceremony, couple portraits and party — normally costs €1,000 to €3,000. A second photographer, a printed album or a shoot before the wedding add to the price. In the north, where many weddings start at lunch and end in the small hours, count on more hours.
Video. €800 to €2,200, depending on the length of the film, the number of cameras and a drone. Some teams do both photography and video and offer a package price for the two.
Music. A DJ with sound and lighting for the party costs around €600 to €1,500; a live band €1,500 to €6,000, depending on the number of musicians and the hours. Music for the ceremony, a fado set at dinner or a saxophonist alongside the DJ are normally paid separately.
Compare photographers and DJs for the same number of hours, with travel included.
Flowers, decoration, cake and invitations
Flowers and decoration: €700 to €3,500 for a wedding of 100. The bridal bouquet alone starts at around €80. Seasonal flowers and low centrepieces cost less; floral arches, flower ceilings and lots of lighting push the figure up.
Invitations: €2 to €6 per paper invitation, counting one per household. A free wedding website with online replies saves the reply card and its envelope.
Favours: easily add up to a few hundred euros, and are among the first things to cut.
Dress, suit, hair and makeup, rings
Wedding dress: €700 to €3,000 in most shops, more from designer ateliers. Add alterations, shoes and veil, which are rarely included.
Groom's suit: €350 to €1,200, or less if hired.
Bride's hair and makeup: €150 to €500, often with the trial included. Travel to where you get ready and every extra person (mother, bridesmaids) are paid separately.
Wedding rings: €500 to €1,500 a pair in gold. The price depends heavily on the gold price when you buy.
Civil or religious ceremony: what you pay
The civil wedding is one of the smallest costs. According to the Portuguese government's official guide, the process and registration cost €120 when you marry at the registry office (conservatória) on a weekday during opening hours, and €200 at the weekend, on a public holiday, outside opening hours or away from the registry office — and away from it, the couple also pays the registrar's travel. A prenuptial agreement costs €100 more (or €160 for a property regime you define yourselves). The process should start at least one month before the date. These amounts can change: the registry office confirms what applies to you.
For a Catholic wedding, the preliminary process also goes through the registry office; the church has its own costs (donation, music, flowers), which vary from parish to parish. A symbolic ceremony with a celebrant has no legal effect and has its own fee. If one of you is not Portuguese, read getting married in Portugal as a foreigner.
Lisbon, Porto, Minho, Algarve: how prices change by region

The region mainly moves the price per guest and how hard it is to get a date:
Lisbon, Sintra and Cascais: usually the most expensive area. Palaces and quintas near the city are in high demand, from couples abroad too, and summer Saturdays go early.
Algarve: resorts and estates with sea views, with summer prices close to Lisbon's. In April, May and October the weather is usually mild and more dates are free.
Porto and the Douro: mid to high prices in Porto; in the Douro, wine estates with unique landscapes, many over an hour from Porto — plan transport and rooms for your guests.
Minho and the Centre: plenty of quintas and plenty of choice, which shows in the price per guest; weddings tend to be bigger and the days longer.
Alentejo: country estates (herdades) with space and quiet; in July and August the heat is strong, and distances weigh on transport.
As an order of magnitude: in the Minho and the Centre you find many full menus under €100 per person; near Lisbon and in the Algarve, going over €120 is common.
High season, winter and weekdays: how much the date saves
High season runs from May to October, and within it Saturdays from June to September are the most sought-after and most expensive days. Outside them, the same venue and the same suppliers often cost less:
Friday or Sunday instead of Saturday;
November to March, when some quintas advertise discounts of 5% to 30%;
a weekday, which some photographers and DJs also price lower.
Book early: for a summer Saturday at a popular quinta, a year ahead is normal. The dress, the rings and the invitations cost the same in any month, so the date saves mainly on the wedding meal.
Example: what a wedding for 100 guests costs
Inês and Tiago marry on a Saturday in June at a quinta near Lisbon, with 100 guests and the civil ceremony at the quinta itself:
Quinta with the wedding meal: 100 × €115 = €11,500
Open bar and late-night supper: €2,500
Suppliers' meals: €200
Photographer (full day): €1,800
Video: €1,500
DJ with sound and lighting: €1,000
Flowers and decoration: €2,000
Cake: €450
Bride's hair and makeup: €300
Dress and suit: €1,500 + €700
Wedding rings: €900
Invitations (55 households): €250
Civil wedding away from the registry office: €200
Total: €24,800, or €248 per guest. The wedding meal, with the bar and supper, takes €14,000 — more than half.
The same party on a Friday in March at a quinta in the Minho — menu at €90, bar and supper €1,800, photographer €1,600, video €1,300, DJ €900 and flowers €1,500 — would come to about €20,600. Three quarters of the difference comes from the wedding meal.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a wedding for 100 guests cost in Portugal?
In 2026, roughly €15,000 to €30,000, depending on the region, the date and the menu. In the example above, a Saturday in June near Lisbon comes to €24,800, and the same party on a Friday in March in the Minho to around €20,600. Palaces and resorts easily go beyond €40,000.
What does a wedding cost per guest?
Counting everything — quinta, photography, music, flowers, dress — around €150 to €300 per guest. The wedding meal alone normally costs €70 to €160 per person. Small weddings tend to cost more per guest, because the photographer, the music and the dress cost the same with 40 guests or 120.
How much does a civil wedding cost in Portugal?
€120 at the registry office on a weekday; €200 at the weekend, on a public holiday, outside opening hours or away from the registry office, plus the registrar's travel. A prenuptial agreement costs €100 or €160 more. The registry office confirms the amounts in force.
When is it cheapest to get married in Portugal?
From November to March, and on any day that is not a Saturday. Even in high season, a Friday or a Sunday usually costs less, and some quintas and suppliers give discounts for winter and weekdays. Ask: not all of them advertise it.
What usually gets left out of the budget?
Suppliers' meals, overtime, travel for anyone coming from far away, VAT when a price is quoted without it, cake or corkage fees, a marquee in case of rain and transport for your guests. Ask for every quote in writing, with these lines in it.
Does booking a supplier through Eventadore cost more?
No. The booking fee is already inside the price you see, never added on top, so it costs the same as booking the supplier directly. When you reserve, that fee is held on your card and charged only when the supplier says yes; the deposit and the rest you pay to the supplier directly.
